Charity Wallace is an effective, strategic, purpose-driven and pioneering executive leader with a proven track record of success in driving innovative solutions and developing unprecedented and effectual partnerships and programs. As founder and president of Wallace Global Impact, she combines her expertise and experience to support corporations, individuals, non-profits, and foundations improve outcomes. She builds cross-sector partnerships that address complex global issues, including gender equality, human trafficking, global health, foreign policy, global aid and development.
Ms. Wallace most recently served on the senior leadership team at the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC) as the Senior Vice President of the Office of Strategic Initiatives and Managing Director for Global Women's Issues. In her roles, she led the agency's foreign policy team working to cultivate private sector investments in projects across key regional regions and sectors, including healthcare, technology and energy. She was also responsible for DFC's 2X Women's Initiative which is committed to empowering women by investing in projects that are women-owned, women-led, or provide a service that benefits women. She worked across the business lines to ensure a gender-lens was fully integrated into the investment strategy of the DFC and was a member of the Investment Committee.
Previously, Wallace served as Chief of Staff to an accomplished serial entrepreneur known for his success in mergers and acquisitions, and exits of companies.
Wallace was a Senior Advisor at the George W. Bush Institute, and the founding Vice President of the Global Women’s Initiatives and Senior Advisor to Mrs. Laura Bush. In this role, Wallace developed and launched the initiatives within the Women’s Initiative, setting the vision and managing the policy engagement for the women’s initiatives, including Pink Ribbon Red Ribbon global health initiative, empowering women in the Middle East and working with First Ladies from around the world. The Initiatives aim to improve access to education, health care, and economic opportunity for women and children in Africa, the Middle East and Afghanistan. From 2009-2010, Ms. Wallace was the Chief of Staff to Laura Bush. In her role, Wallace managed the team that supports Mrs. Bush and oversaw her initiatives - from her wide ranging policy agenda to her “Spoken from the Heart” book tour. Wallace served in the Bush Administration from January 2001 to January 2009. Most notably, she was the Deputy Chief of Protocol of the United States and Director of Advance for First Lady Laura Bush, in which she directed and managed more than 400+ annual events. Her roles have enabled Wallace to travel to over 75 countries, obtaining first-hand experience and knowledge.
Ms. Wallace is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, and serves on the Boards of USA for UNHCR and Concordia Summit, and on the Boards of Advisors for the School of Public Policy at Pepperdine University, 4Word, World Vision's Strong Women Strong World, All In Together, and is a member of the Women’s Initiative Policy Advisory Council at the Bush Institute. Wallace wrote the foreword for the book Work, Love, Pray, which was released in 2011.
Wallace speaks at various conferences and symposiums around the world about leadership, geopolitical trends, women’s empowerment, foreign policy and pressing global issues.
Ms. Wallace received a Global Master of Arts degree in international relations from The Fletcher School at Tufts University in July 2016. A native of California, Wallace graduated magna cum laude from Pepperdine University with a Bachelor of Arts in political science, with a focus in international relations.
